Revitalising Performance Management

Kuba, a provider of innovative, integrated transport ticketing solutions, wanted to revamp its performance management approach to help drive organisational performance forwards, engage their employees and ensure their managers were driving accountability and empowerment throughout the company in a consistent and aligned manner.

Our approach

Working with Kuba’s multinational HR and management teams, we designed a new performance management approach to create a forward-focussed, collaborative approach to performance management that met Kuba’s needs for measurement and reward alignment, worked with their existing HR systems, and empowered managers and employees to work collaboratively to create aligned goals to drive the company’s objectives forward.

What we delivered

A fresh approach to Performance Management

Combining an OKR-based methodology to focus delivering positive change in the most important areas with a traditional performance rating scale to maintain measurement and feed into reward

Utilising existing technology

Working with Kuba’s HR team and their technology partner to support the PM process using their existing HR system, HiBob

Supported by training and support materials

We created a range of training and support materials, including demo videos and step-by-step reference guides, to take employees through using the system, as well as facilitator-delivered training sessions on the whys, whats and hows of the new PM process, with key materials produced in both English and French.

And providing managers with the right skills

Understanding that the managers were at the centre of the success and failure of this process, we also designed and delivered a series of communication-based skills training to the Kuba management community to support them in having productive performance management discussions, including delivering effective feedback and holding courageous conversations.
